BCE Inc. has strengthened it broadband network capabilities for rural and remote regions of Canada with the extension of the company’s services in the northern territory of Nunavut. This region, which forms the country’s Arctic Archipelago is sparsely populated. However, with the new program, the region will gain access to high mobile data speeds up to 100 mbps.
Bell Mobility, the service provider for BCE’s wireless service will make use of its infrastructure facilities for the expansion of the network. This is a strategic effort with the aim of fulfilling the commitment of the company to provide wireless network coverage in the remote and rural regions of Canada.
As it is the leading service provider for telecommunications industry in Canada, Bell Mobility is seeking to provide internet services to rural communities and small towns across the nation. Under its Wireless Home Internet Program, Bell is aiming to provide the services to approximately 1 million households in these regions spread across Manitoba, Atlantic Canada, Ontario, and Quebec.

BCE, which is the parent company for Bell Mobility is likely to benefit from the increasing activity in terms of the wireless business. In addition, BCE is also likely to gain subscribers, bolster tech upgrades, and reduce churn rates.
